Brain XP’s System of H.O.P.E. Standard Presentations

General Presentation (All Audiences)
Sailor Smoak takes attendees on a journey through mental health challenges from the eyes of a young person who has experienced it and has overcome the stigmas existing on school campuses from both administration and fellow students. Sailor teaches Brain XP’s System of H.O.P.E. throughout this journey, which results in a new & unique method of surviving the daily trials of being a young person in today's world. It creates an optimistic avenue that can help calm our minds.

Be My Friend Presentation (Teens & Young Adults)
Sailor Smoak takes young people through Brain XP’s System of H.O.P.E. while focusing particularly on the use of coping skills. Attendees will learn how to use this system to positively change the language of mental health. They will walk away from this presentation with the tools they need to erase the stigma that exists in our world today. This presentation encourages young people to be friends and to help each other rather than put each other down. The goal is to work together to create a better atmosphere for ourselves and for our future generations.

Understand Me Presentation (Parents/Caregivers & Loved Ones)
Sailor Smoak takes caregivers and loved ones through Brain XP’s System of H.O.P.E. and creates a realistic picture of how young people who are struggling with mental health challenges may be feeling. It will also help caregivers and loved ones understand the battles that young people face everyday. The Understand Me Presentation is a reality check for parents who have little to no hope left that positive outcomes are absolutely possible. It is also encouragement for parents who simply want to help their child get through these tough years but are not sure how to do so.

Power Pep Talk Presentation (Youth)
Sailor Smoak takes children (elementary school-aged) on a fun rollercoaster ride through their brains by teaching about Brain XP’s System of H.O.P.E. This rollercoaster ride has ups, downs, loops, and sudden drops that will be represented and symbolized by their different emotions. From sadness to happiness to nervousness to excitement, Sailor will help children understand their emotions. She teaches how children can take care of their brains as well as how children can help their friends and fellow classmates who might be struggling.

Mental Health in Schools Presentation (Mental Health Professionals & School Leaders)
Sailor Smoak speaks directly to mental health professionals and school leaders about Brain XP’s mission by going through Brain XP’s System of H.O.P.E. She creates a vivid mental picture that shows a clear vision of the progress that can be made by incorporating mental health education into school systems all across the nation and the world. Sailor advocates for her fellow young people by emphasizing the critical NEED of mental health education in schools and the critical NEED of mental health “peer to peer - student to student” programs in schools.

A Story of Hope (Sailor Smoak’s Journey) Standard Presentation

In this special presentation, Sailor Smoak digs deep into her personal life. She shares her story starting from her very early childhood as a young silly little girl leading all the way up to her present day life as an international award-winning author and mental heath advocate.

She captures the most memorable moments from her early life and speaks openly about these memories. Sailor talks about her struggles growing up including the different warning signs that she now can recognize as early symptoms of her mental health challenges.

Sailor also features many different hardships she faced as a 12 year old including psychosis, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and bullying. She continues by speaking about her early teen years and features several of her most difficult moments during those years.

Sailor shares about the defining moments that forced her to change her outlook and perspective on life, and she also shares about the different people that helped her along the way.

Sailor speaks about her current passions including mental health advocacy work and creating original music. She reveals the secrets behind the creation of her international award-winning book “Brain XP: Living with Mental Illness, A Young Teenager’s Perspective” along with the secrets behind her resiliency, determination, optimistic attitude, and overall inspiring lifestyle.

Sailor took her hardships and turned them into her greatest motivations. She created a world of positivity that has made her unbreakable. Everyday she continues to face her battles, but she now knows how to cope, and she refuses to be defined by her diagnosis. She has proven every doubter in her life wrong, and she cannot wait to inspire others to do the same.

Finding Your Footprints (Faith-Based) Standard Presentation

Sailor Smoak speaks openly about the role that her faith played in her mental health recovery and maintenance journey. In this presentation, Sailor shares her faith-based secrets that she believes save her in times of hardship. She specifically focuses on the impact that “The Footprints in the Sand” has had on her life. Sailor leads attendees through her faith-based road map as they navigate through different scenarios that can provoke doubt in their faith. These scenarios include the stages of grief. Sailor brings hope to attendees, so that they can leave the presentation feeling inspired and motivated to continue growing in their personal journeys of faith.
