How to Manage Mental Health in HIGH SCHOOL! πŸ“š

I have 5 tips and tricks that I will be sharing with you today on how you can manage your mental health in high school! I graduated from high school earlier this year, so these tips and tricks are still pretty fresh in my mind. Let’s dive in!

1. Balance is KEY!

High school can be VERY overwhelming. It is easy to get stressed out, so balancing your school workload as well as other things in your life (sports, extra curricular activities, jobs, etc.) is important. Make sure that you are getting everything done in a timely fashion, and try not to procrastinate!

2. Stand STRONG against peer pressure!

Vaping, using drugs, getting involved with violence, and hanging around people who are unhealthy for you are traps. BUT they do come up in high school. There are going to be times when you have to stay strong, stick to your morals, and stick to your gut. This gives you control over your life, so that the negative influences do not have that control. When you are in control, your mental health is less likely to be negatively affected.

3. There are people ready to support you.

Asking for help in stressful, upsetting, or aggravating situations can be a great option. School counselors, teachers, and trusted friends do want to help you. They cannot help you if you don't express your concerns. Everybody needs a little help at times, so you won't be seen as weak if you accept help.

4. Planning is ESSENTIAL!

Set a schedule. Stick to the schedule. Meet your goals. Feel accomplished. This will boost your mentality and your image of yourself! Be realistic. Don't schedule so much that you will be disappointed if things don't go smoothly or don't get done. Make sure there is enough time in your day to get homework and important life activities done.

5. Give yourself the necessary CARE.

Get enough sleep! Set up a day during the school week or weekend that you dedicate some time to yourself. Possibly, practice mindfulness or just take a few minutes to sit in a quiet space. You need a break. You need a breather. Give yourself these things because your mind and your body are craving it.
